MANLIO CINALLI - RESEARCH FELLOW
Dr Manlio Cinalli trained as a political scientist at the University of Florence and at Queen's University Belfast. Before joining the Centre for European Political Communications, he worked in the School of Politics and in the School of Sociology at Queen's University, as well in the Centre for European Social Policy at the New University of Ireland. He has now taken up a research position at the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques in Paris, and continues to work closely with colleagues at EurPolCom. His research interests are in socio-political participation, social networks, ethnic relations politics and European policy. He has undertaken extensive analysis of movements, structures, and consolidated identities in Northern Ireland, and his current work focuses on European immigration and asylum policies, in particular the relationship between political mobilisation in the UK and EU policy outcomes.
